Lung cancer originates in the cells of the lungs, often in the lining of the bronchi (air passages).

Two main types are non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC).
Causes
Smoking: The primary cause, responsible for the majority of lung cancer cases.
Secondhand Smoke Exposure: Non-smokers exposed to tobacco smoke are at risk.
Radon Gas: Inhalation of radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas.
Occupational Exposures: Certain workplace chemicals and substances.
Family History: Genetic predisposition can increase susceptibility.
Signs & Symptoms
Persistent Cough: Lasting more than a few weeks.
Shortness of Breath: Difficulty in breathing or breathlessness.
Chest Pain: Discomfort or pain in the chest.
Unexplained Weight Loss: Significant weight loss without an apparent cause.
